Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
I would like to welcome you back for the new academic year and hope you all had a restful and ‘eemaan-boosting’ holiday. The first day of term for students is Wednesday 3rd September 2014 at 8:30am. There have been many exciting changes and additions made to the school this year and we hope to make this the best year ever inshaaAllah!
Alhamdulillah, we saw our students pass their GCSE’s with brilliant results mashaa-Allah. The boys achieved 100% A*-C grade passes in at least 5 subjects as expected. 86% of all our English grades were A*/A as well as 76% of all our mathematics grades. Overall 62% of all grades in the school were A*/A mashaa-Allah. May Allah reward and bless all of our students, parents, teachers and staff for all their hard work.
New Year 7
I would like also like to take this opportunity to welcome our new students and parents to Brondesbury College. Alhamdulillah we have a great team of teachers that will assist your son with all they need and to ensure they settle in with ease. We look forward to meeting you and getting to know all our Year 7 parents on our Welcome Evening on, Tuesday 16th September 2013, 4:45-6pm.
Changes and updates
I also wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the changes that have and will be taking place this year. These include:
We would like to make full use of our School Kompanion (KSM) system Insha’Allah. It is very important that you regularly use this portal. It allows parents, students and teachers to track and monitor students’ progress, attendance, behaviour, view announcements and access various documents for all subjects. Username and Passwords have been given out previously, however if you require it please do not hesitate to contact the school and we will give it to you. Usernames and passwords will be given to the year 7 students on the first day of school insha’Allah.
Contacting the school
Please be informed that parents are able to contact myself via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. For all appointments, please email email@example.com or alternatively call to speak to the PA, who will arrange a suitable appointment for you. Parents are also able to contact all teachers via email when necessary. Teacher’s email addresses can be found on our website. The Form tutor is the first point of contact for all parents and any concerns or issues should be made aware to your son&rsqursquo;s Form Tutor first.
We do hope to communicate regularly with parents, outlining important news and providing you with updates. These will be included in the weekly Jummah Bulletin as well as our term updates. Our usual form of communication to all parents is through various letters that are posted out, however we will also continue to use our email, text and KSM services.
Please do also note: Teachers may occasionally leave messages in student diaries, which must be checked and signed by all parents regularly.
All letters will now also be uploaded on to the school’s new website.
I would like to ask all parents to ensure the school has your latest email address and mobile phone number so that you are able to receive updates via email or text. If you have not done so, please provide these details by either calling the school or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any queries regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact the school via telephone or email.
