House System

House System

The House System is a valued part of school life at Islamia Girls School. It brings students together across year groups to reward effort, behaviour, and teamwork.

Every student is placed into a House when they join our school. Each House includes students from Years 7 to 11, creating a supportive environment where younger students can learn from older peers. House Points are awarded regularly for exemplary behaviour, and students are encouraged to keep track of their achievements both in and out of school.

The House system fosters teamwork, builds a strong sense of belonging, and promotes friendly competition. Students work together to earn points for their House through outstanding learning, positive behaviour, and wise decision-making.

This system helps us recognise and reward students throughout the year—not just for academic success, but for the positive contributions they make to our school community. Our six houses are:

  • Dolphins

  • Eagles

  • Lions

By giving students responsibility and purpose, we encourage them to show initiative and contribute positively to their wider school environment. You can find our more about our School Culture here.
