The study of History is an age-old tradition which has been given great importance in Islam. We aim to instil a love for our religious and cultural heritage through studying the History of Islamic civilizations, as well as the History of other nations and civilisations.

The above verse is an encouragement for this learning as it was for great personalities of the past such as Ibn Battuta and the like. The aim and objective of History at Brondesbury is to provide pupils with a clear understanding and knowledge of the past and present and how it affects the world today. Pupils will have the opportunity to look at events that are affecting the world currently. They will be observing the roots of conflicts and change and analysing these issues as well as possible solutions that can help solve the many crises in our world today.

Key Stage 3 History follows the National Curriculum guidelines to ensure that students are well-versed in British History and prepared to embark on GCSE History Year 9 if they so choose.

The course follows the Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9 – 1) in History. The specification covers 4 Examined Units across 3 papers.
